On this I agree that Europe is in decline for reasons you have quoted. And just maybe being out of the EU may benefit us as we can trade with less restriction especially with loser labour laws.

It is inevitable Alvin whether UK is in or out of EU. Automation, computers, and cheap Asian labour that doesn't get sick pay or holidays & pensions etc all take away European jobs.
Just ask the 50% youth unemployed in Spain, Greece and Portugal. Even throughout the EU the overall unemployment rate is over 20% and getting worse.
Britain on the other hand has more jobs now than at any time in its entire recorded history...

Except that's not true Swiss. I voted to stay in the EU as I live in France and feel European but above all I remain an Englishman.
The British people voted to leave and I support that even though it is to my personal cost.
I am absolutely sure that Britain will end up better off out of the EU but it is to my personal financial cost.
Rather than whinge on endlessly about what was a democratic decision taken by my fellow Brits I don't whinge like a moody teenager that gets excited hoping for more bad news about the British economy just so you can say "I told you so...".

Aren't most of the people who were saying that the pound will fall the same people who were once saying that the FTSE wouldn't recover?
I'm certainly not an expert on the pound, but my best guess is that it'll drop or remain low while May and the EU talk tough during negotiations, and rise again when a deal gets closer.

There is an enormous amount of duplicity out there. When former Soviet bloc members joined a decade ago the Germans kept their labour markets and social security closed the them, correctly arguing they could not afford reunification with the old DDR and allow unrestricted movement.
This could easily have been used as a precedent for a unilateral reform UK policy and nobody would have kicked the UK out. Also many issues unpopular with certain sections of the public but conducive to particular rich interests are massaged to blame either the EU or the Germans or the French. The CAP is the standout example here. Anyway, we're getting into an area where we really need to deal with specific cases and I've got a footie match to watch.

Correct me if I am wrong, genuine request actually
It appears to me that when across the whole membership questions of Brussels based intrusion, German dictatorship or French self interest based policy is challenged, the Brussels technocrats prescribe more Europe when in fact what is actually sort is less Europe
it strikes me that when these real issues and concerns were raised, had they backed off and seen the origin of them that we most likey would still be in the thing and the volatility less marked
But no, they know better when in fact they know fuck all beyond acting like a bloody FIFA based dictatorship
Shame, great shame as the whole free market thing and a measured integration has certain merit

I take your point but reforming the EU is one thing and shouting that it does not allow you to make your own changes when they would be popular but economically disastrous is quite another.

What about sending the many EU criminals clogging up our prisons and costing money, how were we getting on with that?
How about denying access to the UK those with a criminal record to prevent them carrying out crimes here, how were we getting on with that?
The Germans doing something locally is NOT an indication that the EU was or is willing to change Pickle. Only a fool would think it was.
